There have been many
changes in the auto insurance and auto body repair
industry in recent years. However, one thing that has
NOT changed is your choice to have your vehicle repaired
at the shop of your choice. If your insurance company
has a list of preferred shops and Zahn's is not on that
list, they may try to "steer" you to a shop that is best
for them. If they do practice "steering" (insisting,
persuading, coercing that you go to a shop of their
choice) please remember, your insurance company works
for you. You have the right to go to any body shop you
choose, your
choice.
Some examples of
common auto insurance company "steering" practices
are:
1) Insurance company cannot guarantee the
repairs.
2) You will have to pay the difference in
labor rates.
3) Your repairs will be delayed.
4) You may be led to believe that you will
be inconvenienced in some form or fashion, etc., etc.
At Zahn's, none of
these accusations are true. We work with all insurance
companies:
1) Zahn's guarantee exceeds all insurance
company's guarantee.
2) We will accept your insurance company's
labor rate.
3) No matter what your claim
handler/contact person said, repairs are rarely delayed.
4) We will work very hard to prevent your
insurance company from inconveniencing you, if that is
their practice.
You DO NOT have an HMO
agreement with your auto insurance company. According to
the Michigan Bureau of Automotive Regulations:
"You are entitled to choose where
your vehicle will be repaired. Your insurance company
may provide you with a list of possible repair
facilities but cannot insist that the work be done at a
particular shop."
Thank you for
choosing Zahn's
